My first "real" video! Very amatuerish I know, but that's what happens when one doesn't have all the nice equipment! This is a brief video showing a bus shelter ad for red rock deli chips which appears to have a subliminal image of a couple in bed which appears inside the picture of the pepper. I first noticed this ad about 2 years ago when I was driving passed a bus shelter and found myself thinking "What the hell was that?!" I saw this ad a couple more times before it disappeared. I suspect that apart from anything, it was a test - how much blatant sexuality could they subliminally embed in a very public ad? In the last few weeks this ad has reappeared, though unlike many other ads it isn't very widespread.
None of this will come as a surprise to anyone who's familiar with Michael Tsarion's work on occult symbolism in advertising - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngs3iT...
While I have real problems with much of Tsarion's political interpretations (for example, at http://www.redicecreations.com/mtsarf...
he has links to heaps of anti-Jewish and other blatant disinfo sites. He seems to think that active Jew haters such as Henry Ford and David Duke are "truthtellers". There's also a link to Texe Marrs - who credible researchers into the Jesuit order claim is a Temporal Coadjutor - site, claiming that George W Bush is secretly a Jewish religious fanatic (yeah right!) ), much of his philosophical and artistic work is excellent.
Anyway, hopefully this video will form part of a series on the psyche-twisting phenomena of corporate advertising - just one of my many interests.
