The beginning of the first movement is rather..jazzy.

Prokofiev's biography is a very interesting read. He worked every day, composing in the morning and organizing in the afternoon. Prolific, fast, composed in his head even when not working. My favorite composer of the 20th.

One of the best piano sonatas of Prokofiev. Performed by one of the finest pianists of the twentieth century, Sviatoslav Richter

So dark...yet so sarcastic
