Ijtihad is the key to religious growth and human development. Today Muslim Umma is trapped in multidimensional problems and the only way out is through Ijtihad which can be applied in descending order of The Holy Quran, The Hadith and the Ijma. It is presumed by the Westerners that Madrassas are the breeding grounds for fundamentalism. We have to absolve our religious NGOs, of this heinous charge and prove to the world as peace-loving, humanitarian people who are genuinely interested in innovation, research, creativity and new knowledge. I have been pleased to visit Darul Uloom Mohammadia Ghausia Zia-ul-Quran of Bokan Shareef Gujrat and inspired by the creative heterogeneous mixture of religious and secular worldly education. Secondly this madrasa tends not only to disseminate knowledge but also believes in character building.
