My husband and I watched the fire that started at 1 AM on November 26th 2012. It started with the building smoking a lot filling the streets with thick, black smoke. We left to get our camera and when we returned at 1:40 AM it was still smoking until about 1:50AM when the fire actually started to engulf the building. It happened so quick, what seemed like a fire that had already been put out it was quite a surprise to see the building burn up so quickly. Due to fast, amazing emergency crews the fire was able to be put out leaving most the plaza un damaged. Although a few businesses were completely destroyed by the fire, it could have got a lot worse. Sorry for the reaction in the video, Oh my goodness was the only thing that could come to mind while watching this unbelievable fire take place right before our eyes!

UPDATE: 7:23 a.m.

The fire started at approximately 1:10 a.m., when the Kelowna Fire Department responded to several 9/11 calls of smoke and flames coming from the strip mall at 1470 Harvey Ave.
