Man, I just love Kirby music. There’s such a special feel to the compositions, and an amazingly wide variety of styles between songs, especially in the newer games. When listening to the stage music of Endless Explosions from Triple Deluxe (which some have considered “dubstep-esque”), I couldn’t help but notice the slow, rhythmic beat, the heavy, droning notes, and the chilling, somewhat despairing, but perhaps a bit hopeful overtone. All of it seemed familiar from some other song… And suddenly, it just clicked: the Shiver Star factory from Kirby 64. That song is one of my personal favorites, and I know it’s a favorite of many other fans, as well. Such a combination might have been tough to think of out of the blue, since one song is from a hot area and the other from a cold area, but I’m very happy with the result. Whether it’s for the nostalgia rush from 2000, or for the charming masterpiece from 2014, or the combination of the two, I hope you like listening to this mix as much as I did making it.
