(www.abndigital.com) South Africa has the world's second-largest titanium-bearing resources in the world, after Australia, but it does not produce any metal. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research's two-year-old Titanium Centre of Competence is in a close, global race to commercialise a more cost-effective method of producing titanium metal. Joining ABN to discuss world class techniques in the production of titanium is Dr Willie du Preez, Manager of Metals and Metals Processes at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research or CSIR for short.
