A message presented by Pastor Stephen Bohr, defending the doctrine of the state of the dead. A much important sermon if you want to defend the state of the dead. Also, I encourage to visit and support the Ministry that made this presentation available, from the following link, where more good presentations are available from;
[...] He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who only hath immortality [...] 1 Timothy 6:15,16
"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10
"But the rest of the dead did NOT live again UNTIL the thousand years were finished." Revelation 20:5
"Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming in which all that ARE in the graves shall hear His voice and shall come forth -- they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." John 5:28,29
"These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep." John 11:11 "Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead." John 11:14 "Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day." John 11:24
The Bible tells us that the dead goes to sleep after death, awiting either the first or the second resurrection of the dead.
