He was a professional historian, naturalist, explorer, hunter, author and soldier.
Died in January 6, 1919 in New York City.

Nobel Peace Prize:
His most famous foreign policy initiative, following the Hay-Pauncefote Treaty, was the construction of the Panama Canal, which shortened the route of freighters between San Fransisco, California and New York City.
He was the first American to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906, for negotiating the peace in the Russo-Japanese War.
