Chico Singing Christmas Tree from KHSL-TV broadcast 1992

The tree stood 36 feet tall and is made up of 5 tiers holding 80 carolers surrounded by evergreen boughs. The tree is lit with more than 2,000 colored lights.

The Singing Tree started in 1960 when Anita Klemin wife of then pastor Vernon Klemin brought her dream of a singing Christmas tree to life.

During its first decade the Singing drew attention from around the world. The tree was a yearly event for 21 years, but the tradition was discontinued in 1981. It was reestablished in 1991, and now included live nativity scene. Includes Newton Bracewell and Austin's commercials.
