Eric Corijn is a cultural filosopher, sociologist and Professor of Social and Cultural Geography at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. For years he has been concentrating on the theme of urbanity. The majority of people today live in cities. Forecasts show that within 15 years, 80% of the world population will live in cities. The world is evolving into a network of urban nodes. In this talk, Eric Corijn explains how the city can save the world.
TEDxFlandersSalon 21 may 2012

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
