Former Congressional Representative Tammy Baldwin became the first openly gay United States Senator; Congress has seven openly LGBT members, an increase from only 4 in the last Congress. With such a bright spotlight shining on LGBT candidates & elected officials, the work of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, an organization whose mission is to support, train, endorse and elect LGBT leaders, is more important than ever.

Dan Savage is a writer, TV personality, and activist best known for his political and social commentary, as well as his honest approach to love and relationships. Savage's advice column, "Savage Love," is syndicated in newspapers and websites through the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. Savage is also the author of several books. In September 2010, Savage created a YouTube video with husband Terry Miller to inspire hope for LGBT young people facing harassment, entitled the It Gets Better project.
