Even in the 21st century, the girl child in India continues to be looked down by a highly discriminating society in some parts of the country. Holding a bold lens to this hapless plight is the animation short film Chamki which highlights the harsh treatment meted out to the protagonist. The film uses a strong metaphor to voice a strong concern to stop the discrimination and allow the girl child the freedom to pursue her dreams and aspirations without prejudice.
