Married May 1, 2011
Scott and Brittany knew they wanted their wedding to be a fun celebration with loved ones. When beginning the planning process, they decided a comfortable, relaxed event would suite them best, drawing them to an outdoor wedding.
"When we went to visit the location, driving down a tree lined ridge top, it revealed a beautiful 1800s Victorian home Scott's mother had moved onto the property and spent a lifetime restoring. "It was spilling over with heart and soul and reminded me of a dollhouse. The home and the grounds were a perfect fit."
"I loved brainstorming ideas with Kim, my wedding planner at The Perfect Settings. She helped me to pull together an inspiration board that would help us coordinate the look and feel. We wanted to show it to the other vendors so that they could visualize what we were looking for."
"The invitations were definitely one of my favorite elements to our wedding style. It truly reflected our personalities and set a tone of the wedding style: charming, nostalgic, humorous, and a bit unexpected."
"In thinking of what the reception would be like, we wanted to feel like we were sitting at my grandmothers kitchen table surrounded by our closest friends and family - casual, effortless, but lovely."
The Perfect Settings made that dream a reality as they found vintage church pews, chairs and tables that were all mismatched and colorful. Each table was set, as if it were a family dinner with an array of colorful, mismatched plates. Crocheted linen napkins and beautiful vintage silver completed the look. Even the kid's table had sweet miniature chairs and an elephant centerpiece that instantly took you back to childhood nostalgic memories.
Our wedding was the day of the great flood.....our vision was to have this beautiful garden wedding, invites asked the guest to wear garden attire. However they needed their garden boots! It rained 4 inches in an hour! Our photographer tried so hard not to capture the "essence" of the mud, by the last photo you can see we all embraced it and had the best day of our lives.
