This tune was inspired by a project started by Trashton Porter to create a series of benefit CDs to raise money for Pete Huttlinger's health care expenses - due to his battle with a heart condition. After first hearing of the project, I sat down and came up with this tune in an evening, with the title inspired by the thought that Pete had escaped his most recent health scare and was back out of the hospital and out performing again. My original thought was to try to write something that reflected Pete's style, maybe something uptempo, but you never know where inspiration will take you, so the tune came out the way it wanted to come out, and I don't hear much in common with Pete's style in the end. I submitted the tune for inclusion on the CDs, but I'm not sure what's happening with that project.
By chance, I had access to this Collings OM1 Pete Huttlinger Signature Model, while reviewing it for Acoustic Guitar magazine, and it just seemed appropriate to record the tune on the guitar, which is a superb instrument - it's basically identical to one of Pete's OMs, other than the signature. Collings is donating $1000 to Pete's expenses for every one sold. They're probably all taken by now! This one went back to Acoustic Guitar and presumably has also found a good home by now.
This arrangement is in CGDGCD, aka "Orkney" tuning
