This is a public meeting by LAW. Watch in this video how Chairman Jordan prompts the couple that are there for their appeal, to request that the meeting be private. Obviously this was planned BEFORE the meeting. They stated that Tax Assessor Rene McGinnis told them that these meetings were PRIVATE. Now does this woman NOT know her job. Maybe she needs to READ the Open Meeting Laws of the state of North Carolina . I understand that she and the commissioners thought I and the other two citizens there were RUDE and inconsiderate to film the process. They certainly have repeated that accusation to many people on the hill. It's a joke that we have people trying to run our county who are not familiar with the laws of this state. Watch Jordan and Chappell . They actually call the meeting to recess so that they can go make a few phone calls,Jordan said pertaining to my filming the meeting. It was all I could,do not to bust out laughing. I did not have any intention of filming the Board of Equalizaion and Review, but now I will be at EVERY ONE. I will not allow these people to step all over laws and try to switch and change them to suit their needs. They need to STOP lying to the people of this county. This is EXACTLY why commissioners SHOULD NOT sit on this board as a member of our group stated a year ago. It should be a board of citizens, then it would be a PRIVATE meeting and not PUBLIC. Mr. Jordan did not want to relinquish his POWER as a commissioner he stated many times to the citizens. Mr. Jordan please don't try to bluff me. LOL It won't work!
