T-Shirts is a story with a dual perspective one of a person who used to be involved in the street life of Chicago, and the other a person who is still involved in the street life, that believes there’s no way out. The high murder rate is well known in Chicago, IL. In the past, people would hang shoes on power lines to symbolize the loss of friends and family members. Today in Chicago, R.I.P. T-Shirts are more common. The sad thing about using t-shirts as a memorial, is that the majority of the victims are lost to gang, gun, and street violence. The song "T Shirts" targets hardships, gang violence and envokes the sense of empathy for a friend involved in a gang.
The message we hope to get across with this video is that there is a dead-end when it comes living the street lifestyle. We want to lay "Chi-raq" to rest in itself.
