After almost 3 decades of nuptials a husband and wife start to question the solidarity of their union. Hello there everyone and thank you once again for tuning into ReelScreenReviews.com, I am of course movie critic Nick Iacobucci and our next movie review is "Hope Springs". This dramedy is opening on August 8th, 2012, and it stars legendary actors Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep, and joining them onscreen for this feature are Steve Carell and Jean Smart. This film comes to us from director David Frankel, the man that has previously scored big hits with directing both "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Marly & Me".
This tale tells of Arnold and Kay, a middle-aged couple that have been married better than 30 years now, and for the first time the foundation is shaky. Kay decides to sign them up to attend an intense session of counseling to enhance Arnold and Kay's relationship. Enter Steve Carell as Dr. Feld, a counselor that lends his talents to trying to heal the marriages of others, and does he possess the skill to mend even these 2.
