This app is a learning app that teaches young children, aged 4 to 6, to read English. It has two modes: First the "Story" mode where children can listen to or read the picture book about Krishna. This classic story is about the love of a mother for her baby, even though he is very naughty! Charming toddler Krishna often broke the clay pots of butter or yoghurt when his mother, Yashoda, was busy. His naughtiness captivated the hearts of the residents of Vrindavana village where he lived, and continues to delight children today. The "Activities" mode is about learning through play. There are four activities: Word Families, Matching Sounds to Pictures, Matching Words to Pictures, Writing English Characters.
There are three functions:
"Read to Me": here the child takes control of the story, deciding when to turn the page, to listen to the text read again, to change the language at any time, and to study the illustrations to further anchor their comprehension. The "peacock" headwear icon on the right hand side of each page displays three keys - the home key, the parent key- this suggests to parents or teachers what questions or actions to take to test comprehension page by page and the page navigation key where the reader can fast forward to any specific page.
"Auto Play": is a story telling, page by page, where the listener can hear the story in English or Gujarati. This is ideal for very young children (aged 3 up) just to listen to and watch the beautiful illustrations of the story. For the older child this function prepares them for the "Read to Me" function.
"Activities": This function leads to the four activities: "Word Families", "Match Sound to Picture", "Match Word to Picture" , "Write Word" and "Comprehension Test"(ver 1.1).
