Why tell you about malaria when we can sing and dance about it instead? Recorded at pre-service training for a new group of Mali Peace Corps Volunteers in 2010 (voice-over added as audio was very poor!).

Take your prophylaxis!

What's wrong with me?
Why do I feel like this?
I'm going crazy now!

No more Deet in my bag
Don't wanna think about it
The "soso"s are so bad
Don't even get me started
Can't escape from the pain
The itching's escalating
Feels like I'm going insane, yeah yeah

The mosquites of the night will come and bite you
Then it creeps up inside you and consumes you
The disease of the blood is gonna make you
SICK, there is no comfort!

In the moonlight
They search and they plunder
Ain't gonna play nice
Watch out they might just go under
Your mosquito net
And your health will be altered
So taking your meds would be wise

You might get...
When darkness hits the light
Danger in the night
Completely covered in bites
Bum bum bi dum bum bum prophylaxis
Bum bum bi dum bum bum take your prophylaxis
Bum bum bi dum bum bum prophylaxis
Bum bum bi dum bum bum take your prophylaxis

Bang my head against the wall
My body's talking to me
Aches and chills I've got it all
Fever 103
I've gotta get out or
Figure this smear out
Why'd I come to Africa?

Release me from this hell I'm in
Help me Dr. Dawn cause I'm strugglin
If I can't get to Bamako
Tell the car I'm "n ka so kono"

Mefloquine or Doxy... Take your prophylaxis
