"Being strangers at the beginning of this journey, we came from distant places with the intent to build sculptures, and in the process built a family as well," says Nora Naranjo-Morse (Santa Clara Pueblo). She and niece Athena Steen, co-director of the Canelo Project in Canelo, Arizona, reflect upon the close-knit team brought together to build Always Becoming, the first sculpture project of its kind at the National Museum of the American Indian.
