Ever wanted to tee off with your favorite celebrities such as Kristi Yamaguchi, Bret Hedican, Vida Blue, Erik Johnson, or Diane Dwyer, while supporting an important cause? The Asian American Donor Program, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives by registering more bone marrow donors, is hosting the 4th Annual Barry Foon Legacy Golf Tournament this year at Ruby Hill Golf Club in Pleasanton on September 20th, 2010!
Every year, this golf fundraiser is held in memory of Barry Foon, a loving father, husband, friend, and avid golf player, who lost his life to lymphoma cancer in 2007 after he was unable to find a matching bone marrow donor. Of the entire 6 million plus registry, only 7% are Asian American, and this poses as a critical issue for ethnic patients desperately searching for a match when needed.
Want to register as a bone marrow donor? It takes 5 MINUTES! Get your cheeks swabbed and fill out a consent form—that's IT! You will be on the registry until age 60, and will ONLY be called if you are a match. You could save a life. Please take some time out today and learn more about this cause! http://www.aadp.org
