This is the only defect dector along the NYS&W southern division between PARK and PELTON once you leave the yard at PARK. The defect detector is located along the former L&HR mainline at Sparta, NJ just west of block station "LIME". The bridge in the background was finished approximately four years ago in order to alleviate the backup of traffic during train movements since the same mainline crosses the same road within a half mile distance. (The tracks make a big "U" turn at LIME, thereby crossing the same state highway a second time.) The old crossing can be seen right before the bridge and was the old Woodruff's Gap crossing for NJ Route 15.
