Featured as one of National Geographic's best winter trips for 2013, the Chena River State Recreation Area is perfect for every level of outdoor enthusiast. The diverse landscape features towering rock formations, forested hills, and alpine tundra. The rec area is also an ideal setting for viewing the aurora borealis. Popular activities include hiking, camping, dog sledding, rock climbing, canoeing, and snowmobiling.
