Communist historian Doug Enaa Greene lectures on Walter Benjamin and his engagment with Blanqui and the vision of a revolutionary apocalypse. Benjamin argued against leftist ideas of progress, fatalism, passivity, and opportunism that always guarantee defeat and paralyze action. Benjamin argued that the mere existence of capitalism was a catastrophe and argued for the primacy of politics and action to overthrow class society.
