Greetings! I am getting ready to make stewed tomatoes because of the tonnage of tomatoes coming out of our garden.

Unlike the sauce I made where I left the skins on the tomatoes, I do need to remove it for making stewed tomatoes. Nobody wants little pieces of skin floating around in their stewed tomatoes!

This is fairly simple and straight forward. You don't need a blanching basket to get the job done, but it does make life a little easier when doing this task and it does make the job go more quickly.

Peeling tomatoes is easy work and Molly even asked to help. Taking the skins off of a freshly scalded tomato is fast easy and somehow very satisfying! We made quick work of this job with two of us it only took about 20 minutes to do 15 pounds of tomatoes.
