It's a Jeep thing !
CSalev3
so you're saying having an open differential makes you less of a man? lol
Chris Wilson
If you're real slow getting onto the throttle, you can get it to break posi. My standard jeep torque flexes so hard when I rev it up and dump the clutch that it hits posi almost every time. But, there in lies the rub, I have a 5 speed.
Chris Wilson
As right as you may be, you're wrong. You'd spend upwards of $1k on a locked 44, while you can pick up a lunchbox locker for 2-300 bucks. It's also a lot less labor putting a locker in something than swapping an axle then putting a locker in it too. Fuck it, who cares if he blows the locker up, it's his jeep, and besides if you know what you're doing you can have a hell of a lot of fun doing it.
Chris Wilson
Man, you should still burn it with the xj you have now. I just have to ask though, what trans did this jeep have? If it's the aw4 I envy the hell out of you. I've never gotten a aw4 to lock into 2nd doing a burnout.

@premierdrummer27 Locking a dana 35 is about pointless the housings are so weak! Plus they have C clip axles! Better to spend swaping to a dana 44 or even better a 8.8 !
Stephen Robertson
damn dude you mastered the art of powerbraking in that thing haha :) sweet burnout dude
Nan Borton
how long did it take for the other side to start spinning?? in my 94xj it spins about 2 seconds after the other wheel starts
