A Brief Guide to the Committee on the Rights of the Child General Comment Number 6 on the treatment of unaccompanied and separated minors outside their country of origin.

Produced by the European Youth in Migration Forum, a group of young people from all over the world living in Ireland passionate about the welfare of children in migration within Europe.

Summer 2014, the IRC hosted a camp for young people aged 15 – 22 on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Committee on the Rights of the Child, Comment No. 6 ‘Treatment of unaccompanied and separated children outside their country of origin’.

The young people learned about the United Nations framework for children’s rights and work on making a child-friendly version of Comment No. 6! This has never been done before and we are all very excited about it!
