Transcript: We are honored to introduce the Journal of American Sign Languages and Literatures (JASLL). We are the editors of JASLL along with a large number of outstanding people! They serve in three different capacities: associate editors, editorial board and ASLized ad hoc. Everyone is vital to the establishment and success of JASLL. The most important part is YOU. We want your video to be published in this journal! It must be brand new that no one has seen before. Too often, people will post their videos on Facebook and Twitter first before publishing. Instead, we encourage you to share your work with the scholars who can give you accurate feedback before submitting the final draft to JASLL! This approach is common amongst the journals around the world. If you want to submit your work but you require some kind of assistance such as video editing, please consider getting in touch with us. ASLized will provide you with the technical support and make your video possible! The reason why we support JASLL as a starting place to publish scholarly work is because countless people publish their work in English first which benefits only hearing people, not Deaf people. This is not acceptable and the time is right for Deaf people to receive the full access to research in their native language: American Sign Language (ASL). We will also include captions for those who are unable to understand ASL. However, some submissions will not be captioned such as A-Z stories. The main point of JASLL is all yours!
