In honor of National Chemistry Week, Lake Forest College SAACS students volunteered to visit Woodlands Academy on Friday, Oct. 22 to do chemistry demonstrations for the high school's chemistry club. Female students used their lunch period to talk with the college students about their experiences in college as chemistry majors. Huy Hoang '14 helped students ignite a methanol canon, Tom Pospiech '14 demonstrated the chemiluminescence of luminol, and Leah Frenette '12 showed how the air inside a balloon contracts at liquid nitrogen temperatures.
