Captioning in theatres offers one in seven people who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing access to plays and performances.

Here, captioner Alex Romeo tells us all about the work that goes into captioning one show. From receiving the script to the final performance, and all the work that goes into giving deaf people the same access as their hearing counterparts.

To find out more about theatre captioning, please visit our website: www.stagetext.org

You can also sign up for a monthly e-newsletter which lists the captioned performances that are taking place across the country by emailing us at enquiries@stagetext.org

We look forward to seeing you at a captioned show soon!
