A passenger on board a German airliner has been praised after he helped the pilot land the plane in Dublin after the copilot was taken ill. The Lufthansa 747 was on route from Newark in the US to Frankfurt when the copilot suffered a migraine, forcing the plane to reroute to Dublin. After hearing about the detour, the man, a qualified pilot, identified himself to cabin crew and offered to help. He then helped the pilot land the plane safely in the Irish capital.
