Released in October 2011 by Berkley Books (an imprint of Penguin Group USA), Camouflaged Killer tells the shocking story of one of the continent's most invisible serial killers. Colonel Russell Williams lived a double life - as a decorated and highly respected military colonel by day, commanding thousands of troops at Canada's largest and busiest air force base, while transforming into a deranged and animalistic sex predator by night.

Many believe that Colonel Williams was destined to become the country's Chief of Defense Staff. He had personally piloted prime ministers, foreign dignitaries, and even the Queen of England herself. He was put in charge of President Barack Obama's flight plans for Toronto's G20 Summit in 2010, and commanded Canada's forward operating base in Afghanistan for six months during combat duties.

Camouflaged Killer details the colonel's repulsive crimes in chilling detail, contrasting his evil undertakings with his growing responsibilities within the military establishment. The book then takes the reader on an exploration that goes many steps farther than most true crime books. The author, David A. Gibb, who has worked as a private investigator for 25 years, digs deep into this killer's psyche to answer some intriguing and nagging questions.

Why was he driven to risk everything he had to fulfill his lustful desires? What were the root causes of his behavior? What was his tipping point, and why did it come so late in life? Could he have been helped? Were police responses adequate, and was the colonel originally "invisible" to them? Are military screening protocols sufficient to keep the likes of Williams from permeating their walls once again? World-renowned criminal profilers, military experts, and forensic psychiatrists lend their expertise to this solid analysis of a very disturbing criminal mind.

Camouflaged Killer is available at good book stores everywhere (including in Ireland and the U.K., where it has been published by Y Books as "Evil in Plain Sight"). Also available online, and in many eBook formats.

Soon to be a motion picture. (Currently in pre-production with Richard Lowry Productions of Montreal.)
