Franklin County Engine-Tanker 14 was on a transfer assignment to the borough of Gettysburg on 8/9/08 while Adams County Company 1 (Gettysburg) was hosting a convention parade. ET-14 was dispatched at 1731 hours to an auto accident in Box Area 1-2; Cumberland Township; at the intersection of Wheatfield Road and Sickles Road (just off Emmitsburg Road) on the Gettysburg Battlefield. Adams AC-1 (Allen Baldwin), ET-14, and Adams Ambulance 1A (Gettysburg) were on the scene of a one vehicle MVA that ran off the roadway into a drainage culvert. ET-14 assisted with vehicle stabilization and hazard control while awaiting towing service. US Park Service Police were on scene for the accident reporting. ET-14 cleared the accident scene, and also the transfer assignment, at 1810 hours.
