Featuring stunning original compositions and unique covers of The Beatles' "Julia" and excerpts of Olivier Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time", Jason Yeager's moving second album, "Affirmation," released on Greg Osby's Inner Circle Music label, combines jazz improvisation, lyrical melodies, afro-latin grooves, and 20th century classical harmonies. With his core trio featuring Danny Weller (bass) and Matt Rousseau (drums), Yeager also enlists the contributions of rising-star soloists Noah Preminger (tenor sax), Aubrey Johnson (voice), and Jean Caze (trumpet). Says Greg Osby of Yeager's music, "[Yeager is] an individualist with a high concept, his music contains grace and color and a great deal of depth.”
The New York-based pianist/composer is also on faculty at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, teaching in their piano department.
