Garage door trouble shooting, when your garage door door remote and wall switch or button works, and you can hear the the electric opener running and or the light in the opener located in the center of the garage attached to both the roof or celling and the door but wont close the Door.

The most common cause is that the safety sensor is 1) either obstructed or 2) out of alignment, please check both sensors to make sure that neither is the cause for the safety brake to be engaged.

Note: garage doors have a safety line of sight mechanism built in to all electric garage doos this is there to help make sure your garage is safe and prevents the door from closing on both humans and automobils, its usually located close to the garage door track on either side (both sides pointed at each-other) about six inches above the floor if anything obstructs the line of sight between the two sensors the door will not close, alternately if either of the sensors is bumped they can become misaligned and can also prevent the door from closing.
