Part 1: Zina and Marina—best friends and active drug users, who are about to discover their HIV status; Part 2: Tanya--a mother of two who has transitioned into substitution treatment but whose husband continues to use drugs; Part 3: Galya--a former user who now works as a peer-to-peer outreach worker.

"Балка: Три истории" -- документальный фильм о женщинах, употреблении наркотиков и ВИЧ-инфекции в Украине. Фильм представляет личные истории, рассказанные жителями Одессы, Днепропетровска и Полтавы. В фильме зрители встретили Зину и Марину, лучших подруг, которые употребляют наркотики и собираются раскрыть свой ВИЧ-статус; Таню, мать двоих детей, которая участвует в программе заместительной терапии, пока ее муж продолжает употреблять наркотики; и Галю, бывшая потребительница наркотиков, которая в настоящее время работает аутрич-работником по методу "равный равному".
