WotOpera unlocks creativity in young people by using the metaphor of opera, the most multidisciplinary artform in the arts.
Since 2008, over 900 students from nearly 40 schools around Australia have been involved. Participants are involved in all aspects of creation: character development, plot creation, writing the libretto, composing the music, casting, painting the backdrops, and performing. All these are aimed at inspiring students, linking in with prescribed learning goals and developing a range of skills, which are integral to any creative process.
Here, Artistic Director Murray Dahm tells us wot it's all about.
