drsophiayin.com presents a demo on first training lesson for a dog. This is similar to how most first sessions go with untrained dogs regardless of how untrained they are. This dog loves to jump and is hyperactive. i only let him jump for a couple of times to show you that does this, then I get to work by removing my attention until he sits.
Notice that in a short period of time we've been able to progress through a number of exercises. it's easy for dogs to learn these exercises because they only have to do whatever earns rewards. It's harder for owners to learn to provide rewards with the right timing and remove rewards for incorrect behavior consistently. They also have to learn how to move their body to convey the correct visual message. Right now, for this dog, these behaviors are just tricks. To make them a habit at home the owner needs to consistently reward the good behaviors and remove rewards for bad behaviors until the good behaviors become the habit.
