According to legend, the Candyman was a slave named Daniel Robitaille in the 1850’s who was an incredibly talented artist painter, and so he was chosen by a New Orleans plantation owner to paint a portrait of his daughter. While painting the portrait, Daniel and the plantation owner’s daughter fell in love. When the racist plantation owner learned of the relationship, he raised an angry mob that hunted Robitaille down with pitchforks and a pack of dogs. Upon capturing the unfortunate exhausted slave, the cruel mob slowly and painfully cut off Daniel’s right hand with a dull rusty saw. Then the evil men covered Daniel with honey and threw him into a hive of bees. The tortured Daniel Robitaille died in terrible agony from the bee stings, but not before he cursed the merciless mob, vowing to return and exact revenge. It is said that Daniel Robitaille’s ghost never rests, and that he is now a demonic spirit known as the Candyman who forever wanders aimlessly inside the realm of dark spirits - appearing in whenever his name “Candyman” is chanted five times into a mirror – summoned - drenched in blood and bees - a ruthless vicious killer with a bloody hook in place of a right hand - with nothing but revenge and murder on his mind. Beware!
