Don, I just spent an incredibly enlightening afternoon at Michael's house. We decided that - as far as sound goes - the 'spec' uke has a more balanced sound and would probably shine in a recording situation. Your uke has a little more 'attitude' and is more exciting to play. There is a marked difference between them in person. On the recording, the spec uke sounds a little better due to its better recording qualities (more flat, less exciting) and you can hear your uke distort the little microphone on my movie camera making it sound not as good in the recording than in person.
