Ever since the one-and-done 2016 debacle in Copenhagen that befell Chicago, the USOC has been hard at work trying to pick up the pieces. They've already said that they won't go at 2020, so 2022 is the closest that they can work out an Olympics bid. Cities mentioned include Reno-Tahoe, and Denver.

Denver. Just the mere mention of "Denver" to Olympic purists makes them want to gouge their eyes out. Denver has been the only city to win a Summer or Winter Olympics bid only to say "no thanks". 1976 was the year and Innsbruck, Austria became the site.

The Mile High City actually worked hard on a 2018 bid but many believed that Chicago 2016's plan was so close-to-flawless that the USOC didn't bother. Maybe the Copenhagen vote will learn 'em.

So next up for the US could very well be 2022-a WOG year. I've studied a possible Denver bid for a while now. I have some suggestions.

Olympic Stadium can be Invesco Field @ Mile High. They can use Pepsi Center and the Magganis Arena @ U. of Denver for hockey. Denver Coliseum for Curling. IPC/MBC can be Colorado Convention Center. 1stBank Center north of Denver for short track and ice skating/dancing. Alpine and skiing events can be split between Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and maybe Aspen.

With so many millionaires/billionaires that own land in Aspen, they could be significant private donors as well as Wells Fargo, Coors, Kroger, Qwest, Quiznos, and maybe Frontier Airlines.

Transportation is an issue that Colorado and Denver seem to be addressing with them putting a lot of money into the I-70 corridor as well as into high speed rail from Denver to the mountain areas of Breckenridge, Vail, and Aspen.

A logo that I designed is even included even though it is sort of crappy. lol :)
