Energy is something everyone needs. Why not take out the profit motive, and with it, so goes all the corruption and greed with it.

To totally localize energy production might not be the best idea in Japan`s case. I was thinking to have the co-op work for the good of everyone in a fair exchange of production. Japan lacks natural resources. One area could be able to import the resources needed to produce energy, or even develop clean(non-nuclear) energy production, while another area of Japan cannot. Fair exchange of production by worker driven co-ops could create a new economic cycle which could replace capital.

Agree that the abstraction of money and profit can often supersede our humanity... As yet there are no proper disposal methods for nuclear power. We can see tragedy and on-going horror of Fukushima. Purportedly, Edward Teller, Father Of The H-Bomb, said that nuclear power is too dangerous to be sitting on the surface of the planet. And they ruined Oppenheimer.

This is whats needed all over the planet and not just in Japan so Isay YES to your idea and before the world adopts this policy they should all get together and help Japan with the clean up whilst decommissioning their own Nuclear facilities. Powered by only newable sources /Wind/Wave/Solar/freepoint energy schemes etc

I am fully aware of what the trend is. What I am talking about is reversing the trend. Yes, money can buy legislators which is exactly why nothing changes. We must do all that we can to show that no matter how much money is thrown at the legislators the people will not play ball and we will do what we can to limit the increase of the profit margin.

This nuclear nightmare needs to be handled first and foremost. Efforts are being made the ones in control are still thinking about the profit motive and lack the knowledge on nuclear power to deal with everything that needs to be handled. We must force them to do the right thing by taking away some of their profit making ability. I have been telling people to stop using so much energy as a way to limit the profit making ability of those in control.

no longer should money or wealth be accumulated by means of charging interest..it rewards for producing nothing..i'm with ya..but first we have a small little issue of safely taking care of that nuclear nightmare in your backyard..then in my backyard..do you re-build an infastructure that is one earthquake or stupid move away from oblivion at any given moment?..i'm open..how does it happen?..how do you build hope for tomorrow when you have madmen at the contols today?..chicken or the egg?

Thank you. Get the word out. A world in which resources are shared for everyone`s benefit and remove the profit motive would be a better world for everyone.

if we could just get everyone to think the way that you (and i) do, things would be so different. i am sharing this!! :)
