In 1597 the sailing crew of Willem Barentsz played colf at Nova Zembla, an island archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. Colf is the same game which Ross Pake plays exclusively to relax. Colf, then gowf, now golf, developed into Ross Pake’s game over the centuries, starting in the Middle Ages.
