Mark Morris Dance Group performed at Jacob's Pillow in 2011.
In a rousing Festival finale, this program of classic revivals and new work celebrated the lush, witty movement that makes Mark Morris one of America's most acclaimed choreographers. The engagement included Resurrection, performed to Richard Rodgers' "Slaughter on 10th Avenue;" Ten Suggestions, the famous solo originally danced by Morris himself; V, a work for fourteen dancers set to the music of Robert Schumann; and Dancing Honeymoon, performed to a medley of classic tunes from the 1920s and 30s. Musicians from the Tanglewood Music Center performed for a jubilant evening of dance and music.
