This is what I do to get nicely shaped oval paper beads. I like to use sales add or you can use magazine and if there are staples in the center take them out. Mark the sides of your paper every 3/4 inch and cut out paper triangles I like to use a rotary cutter for this. Then roll, glue and glaze your paper beads. P.S. the holes in my paper beads are 1/16 inch 11/0 seed beads don't go inside them like they do with 1/8 inch holes.

Materials needed to make a small star:
6 ft. of 8lb or 10lb. monofilament fishing line
10-6mm round beads
10-3/4 inch oval acrylic beads or 3/4 paper beads
25-30-2mm or 8/0 seed beads
11/0 seed beads or 4mm or 5mm bugle beads
to decorate the legs use what you want I used
11/0, 8/0, and 6/0 seed beads and 2mm an 3mm rounds
1 large bead, marble or cabochon for center of star size may vary I used a 10mm, 14mm and 16mm beads
