Jonathan Ernst with Pro Arbor, a tree removal company in Manassas Virginia, discusses some of what needs to be considered if you have to remove a tree. The video shows various examples of branches being lowered out of trees by crews employing complex rigging techniques.
Jonathan briefly discusses cutting down trees by yourself. It is important to note that a full understanding of the equipment used is required to safely cut down trees. The arborists in this video have received years of training and hold certifications from the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture).
Tree removal can be especially challenging in Northern Virginia where very large trees grow in close proximity to houses, streets, swimming pools, utility lines, and playgrounds. Any mistakes in cutting trees can result in expensive property damage, injury, or loss of life.
Look at all of the safety gear being used in this video. When removing trees from your property it is critical that all of the ropes and gear used are manufactured for the purpose of tree work, and that they are inspected regularly for safety.
Notice that all workers in this video are wearing protective gear over their heads, eyes, and ears. Protective equipment is required in tree removal. If a crew does not have it, then they are not professionals.
