This is the seventh segment of an eight part series about basic tax responsibilities. This segment provides information on programs and organizations that help taxpayers. In addition to the Taxpayer Advocate Service, Low Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITC), the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program (TCE) are discussed. The series is in Spanish with English subtitles.
The Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS), an independent organization within the IRS, is Your Voice at the IRS. TAS helps taxpayers resolve problems with the IRS and recommends changes that will prevent the problems. For additional information, please visit http://www.irs.gov/advocate/.
