"CPAC is an organization called the Conservative Political Action Committee, and they have an event in Washington, DC once a year which is coming up in a few weeks, and as you probably could imagine, I get a few hundred invitations a week to speak, everything from a local Kiwanis club to national organizations. So I don't keep track. I don't see them usually. Usually they get vetted by my staff, and the ones that they think I might be interested in they bring to me to decide which ones I go to.
So I didn't know that I hadn't been invited to CPAC until two days ago when I saw it on the news. So yeah, apparently I haven't been invited.
Listen, I wish them all the best. They're going to have their conference. They're going to have a bunch of people speaking there. If they don't want to invite me, that's their call. It's their organization. It's their business, and they get to decide who they want to have come and not come. It's not like I'm lacking for invitations to speak, both here and around the country. It's not like I have a whole lot of openings in my schedule, and the fact is if any organization doesn't want to invite me to come and speak that's their prerogative, and I wish them the best. Let them have a great conference, and as for the rest of it, it doesn't bother me a whole heck of a lot. I can't sweat the small stuff. I got a state to rebuild. I can't sweat the small stuff."
