Hey there, fist-pumpers, I'm Jonathan Zipper with Wetpaint Entertainment. Last week, we took to our handy Jersey Shore Facebook page and asked you, the fans, to submit your burning questions about Snooki, The Situation, and the rest of the Seaside Heights gang. Well you asked for it, and I am here to deliver.
JONATHAN: Joining me is our Wetpaint Jersey Shore aficionado, Joe Roch. How've you been, Joe?
JOE: Besides slowly melting to death — it's pretty damn hot where I am today, here in Pauly D's home state of Rhode Island — I'm great, Jonathan!
JONATHAN: OK, first question, Joe: Amy B. asked us, "When is MTV going to film Season 5?"
JOE: Begin? How about: Begun. Filming for the next next season started up almost immediately after the brat pack arrived back from filming Season 4 in Florence, Italy. Word on the street is that MTV kept its golden cash cows in complete isolation in between filming the seasons, to "preserve the chemistry" of the show. Hmm..."preserve the chemistry", or "preserve the friction, chaos, and fist-pumping fisticuffs that keep audiences tuned in"? Either way, Season 4: Gudios Take Europe, is set to air Thursday, August 4th.
JONATHAN: Great! OK, Christopher I. wants to know: "Do other guys actually find Snooki attractive?"
JOE: Wow, judging by that question, Christopher, it's safe to say that you don't find her very attractive! Listen, Snooki may not be every guido's cup of tea — she burps, she farts, and she spends way too much time either in bars, or behind them — but, judging from what we've seen on screen, she never seems to be starved for male attention. What's more, she's been with her boyfriend, Jionni, for almost 9 months — assuming you don't count the time they spent fighting and breaking up while Snooks was filming in Italy..
JONATHAN: Aww, poor Snooki! OK, lastly, Jenna H. was dying to know: "How did Snooki get her nickname?"
JOE: Oh, good question, Jenna! OK, so Snooki told Rachel Ray, of all people, that her now-famous name comes from some rando character in the 2001 Julia Stiles movie Save the Last Dance.
Apparently, in the 8th grade, Snooki was the first of her girlfriends to make out with a guy — no surprises there — and so, for reasons that don't really even make sense to Nicole herself, her friends started calling her "Snooki," and it's stuck ever since. The moral of the story, of course, is that Julia Stiles's career may come and go, but a good nickname is forever.
JONATHAN: Well ain't that the truth. Alright, guys, that's all we have time for. If you have more questions for us, or if you'd like to stay on top of the latest Jersey Shore reports from Italy, head on over to our Facebook page at http://www.Facebook.com/JerseyShoreFa.... Ciao!
