In 2007, a Tunisian architect started blogging under the nom de plume _Z_. His interest was urbanism and how several massive building projects planned for the city of Tunis were going to affect the urban core of the capital, cut off citizens from some of the city's treasured green space, and threaten native species. But as time went on, the maps he was posting to show the impact of the proposed projects started morphing into cartoons. Within a year, _Z_ had transformed from an architect concerned about urban space to a political cartoonist whose goal was to unseat the then Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
